Position Summary Northern Technologies Group (NTG) is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support mission-critical operations for U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) at MacDill Air Force Base.
This role is responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure in a high-availability, classified environment. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with Windows Server environments, system maintenance, and DoD security compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Administer and maintain Windows Server 2019/2022 environments
Perform system patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation
Monitor and manage server performance, availability, and system health
Ensure compliance with DoD security standards, STIGs, and policies
Support infrastructure deployments, system builds, and configuration management
Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues across enterprise environments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, engineers, and mission stakeholders
Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and system procedures
Escalate and track issues to resolution in accordance with operational priorities
Support continuous improvement of system performance and security posture
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Active TS/SCI clearance
DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification (e.g., Security+)
3+ years of systems administration experience in enterprise environments
Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration
Experience with patching, system upgrades, and maintenance processes
Understanding of DoD security requirements (STIGs, RMF, etc.)
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting USCENTCOM or similar DoD combatant commands
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware/vSphere)
Experience with certificate lifecycle management (PKI)
Knowledge of scripting/automation (e.g., PowerShell)
Experience working in multi-domain or classified environments (NIPR/SIPR)
