The HR Business Analyst supports the day-to-day operations, analysis, and enhancement of the PeopleSoft HCM HR module within a large enterprise environment. This is a net-new headcount addition driven by high ticket volume, and the ideal candidate brings both strong functional knowledge of the PeopleSoft HR module and meaningful technical skills — ideally a developer background that evolved into a functional role. The position is part of a six-person tier-two support team and requires excellent communication skills to work directly with end users. Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert for the PeopleSoft HR module, handling tier-two support tickets and end-user inquiries. Analyze complex system issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop solutions that may require digging into technical configurations rather than just surface-level functional fixes. Work with functional and technical teams to document, test, and implement system enhancements and process improvements. Communicate effectively with end users to gather requirements, explain resolutions, and provide guidance on system use. Collaborate with the broader HCM team on cross-module issues, particularly where HR intersects with Benefits. Participate in testing, deployment, and documentation activities as needed. Required Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience with the PeopleSoft HR module (core HR/HRMS — not payroll, timesheets, or benefits). Demonstrated technical aptitude — ability to get into the system, perform deep-dive analysis, and troubleshoot beyond standard functional triage. Experience working in a high-volume support environment with a steady pipeline of end-user tickets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface directly with non-technical end users. Collaborative team player comfortable working within a structured team environment. Preferred Qualifications
Background as a PeopleSoft developer who has transitioned into a functional BA role — this combination is strongly preferred over a purely functional profile. Working knowledge of the PeopleSoft Benefits module, which frequently intersects with HR. Familiarity with HCM architecture and how HR integrates with adjacent modules. Experience in a large enterprise or public sector PeopleSoft environment. This is a permanent, net-new position — not a backfill. On-site presence required; local candidates preferred. Relocation candidates will be considered for the right fit. Two-stage interview process: initial virtual screen.
