The Assistant Sales Manager works under the supervision of the National Sales Manager. This position is a member of the Sales team for the company.
This position will be located at the McDonough, GA facility.
Position Requirements Essential Functions and Duties
Approving new account set‑ups
Developing sales promos
Work with sales team on product allocations
Monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly call logs of the sales team
Develop/monitor SPIFF programs for the sales team, including reporting
Monitoring all sales team’s batches
Generate and distribute daily sales reports
Assist the sales team in working with all other departments as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
Communicate with customers to determine their needs, discussing products and finalizing sales
Attending industry trade shows to identify potential opportunities for growth, including identifying new markets for existing products or developing new products for untapped markets
Coordinating with warehouse staff to ensure that orders are processed accurately and in a timely manner
Assisting with the day-to-day operations of a sales team, including hiring, training, motivating, and disciplining members
Managing the company’s relationships with current customers and building relationships with potential clients to generate new business
Planning and executing sales campaigns to increase sales and meet organizational goals
Monitoring inventory levels to ensure that there is sufficient stock of items that are likely to sell quickly
Communicating with suppliers to ensure that products arrive on time and meet quality standards
Ensuring that all transactions are conducted in accordance with state regulations regarding sales practices
Physical Requirements
Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
Regularly move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly
Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects
Frequently working on projects that require deadlines
Lifting 5-10 lbs.
Experience and Education
High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (preferred).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools
Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP (preferred)
Experience working in wholesale/distribution company
Experience managing multiple companies
Experience in the firearms industry (preferred)
Knowledge and experience using effective sales strategies
Good oral and written communication skills
Background Check and Drug Screening
Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
