Counter Sales Representative (Open) – Location: La Crosse, WI, Retail shop. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (no weekend work). Responsibilities Partner with customers to provide industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and other essential supplies. Serve as a trusted guide, advising customers on tools, hardware, and materials needed to complete projects. Demonstrate equipment use and share insights on product quality to build customer confidence. Adhere to company policies, including safety and use of personal protective equipment. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external partners, fostering long‑term relationships. Accurately complete all required paperwork, including coding, costing, and pricing. Manage order entry and process transactions; assist with reconciliation of deposits. Coordinate via phone, e‑mail, and in person to provide information on costs and delivery. Support an outgoing call strategy to grow branch success. Coordinate transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs. Maintain a positive work atmosphere and communicate supportively with customers, vendors, and colleagues. Stock shelves and maintain welcoming showroom displays. Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 2–5 years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments (education and life experience may be considered). Regular attendance and punctuality required. Excellent customer service skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced setting. Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus. Attention to detail in handling transactions. Ability to lift/move up to 75pounds and up to 150pounds with material handling equipment. Availability for occasional overtime. Must be able to operate in a drug‑free workplace. Preferred Qualifications Background in gas, welding, or safety supplies. Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines. Proficiency with Google, Microsoft Office, or SAP.
