Overview Title: QA Lead
Location: Hybrid (Greater Milwaukee / Chicago Area – up to 3 days onsite per week) Engagement Type: W2 Contract (Hourly or Salaried model available)
Step Into a Leadership Role That Shapes Enterprise‑Scale Performance
Are you a seasoned QA Lead who thrives on coordination, clarity, and delivering confidence in complex systems? Trissential is hiring a QA Lead to join our client’s team and play a critical role in a large‑scale initiative modernizing core operational platforms across multiple entities.
This is not a hands‑on performance engineering role. Instead, you’ll lead performance test planning, execution coordination, and results visibility, ensuring enterprise systems are ready to perform when it matters most. If you excel at bringing structure to complexity and aligning diverse teams toward a common goal, this role was built for you.
What’s in It for You?
High‑Impact Leadership – Own the quality and readiness of performance testing across a multi‑system, enterprise transformation
Strategic Visibility – Partner directly with program leadership, operations, and engineering teams
Complex, Meaningful Work – Support mission‑critical platforms where reliability, scalability, and performance truly matter
Balanced Flexibility – Hybrid work model with predictable onsite expectations
Professional Credibility – Lead large, integrated performance testing events and executive‑level readouts
Your Role & Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the creation and completion of a comprehensive performance test plan, covering scope, environments, tooling, data, resourcing, schedules, and execution models
Develop and maintain an integrated test preparation and readiness schedule across multiple systems, teams, and dependencies
Create, organize, and manage performance test cases, execution groups, and workbooks within test management tools
Coordinate cross‑team working sessions supporting integration, automation, and performance testing across applications, mobile clients, and backend interfaces
Plan and support performance test dry runs, validating entry criteria and readiness before execution
Provide execution‑time coordination and support across test cycles and extended testing events
Manage on‑site logistics for performance testing activities, including access, workspace coordination, and operational needs
Facilitate defect triage sessions, tracking issues through prioritization, assignment, and remediation
Consolidate and analyze performance results (UI response times, system utilization, interface throughput)
Prepare and deliver clear performance test read‑outs to technical and program leadership
Serve as a central coordination point ensuring testing outcomes align with program milestones and operational readiness goals
Skills & Experience You Should Possess
10+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, with at least 4 years in a QA Lead or Test Management role
Strong understanding of performance testing concepts, including planning, execution strategies, KPIs, and entry/exit criteria
Experience supporting large‑scale, highly integrated platforms with real‑time or operational characteristics
Hands‑on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar)
Proven ability to coordinate testing across multiple systems, integrations, and delivery teams
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with confidence facilitating meetings and reporting status
Bonus Points If You Have
Experience in utilities, energy delivery, or operational technology environments
Exposure to SCADA or SCADA‑like systems
Prior leadership of large performance testing events, dry runs, and executive results read‑outs
Experience working in regulated or mission‑critical environments
Background supporting hybrid or agile delivery models on enterprise programs
Education & Certifications You Need
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
ISTQB or equivalent QA/testing certification preferred
