Position Summary The fundamental purpose for this position is to work as a member of the sales team to grow sales and build customer relationships. You will be the front‑line contact between the company and the customer and report to the VP of Industrial Sales. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for achieving annual sales projections, building and managing customer relationships, expanding the customer base, and expanding the company’s knowledge of competitors, all potential customers within the assigned region.
Essential Functions of the Job
Make daily customer visits, following up on customer quotes, building strong relationships with customers, and understanding their business needs
Record all customer sales visits and relevant sales activity in CRM database within 24 hours of an event
Submit activity plan for the upcoming week every Saturday by 12 PM
Assist management with monthly, quarterly, and annual sales projections
Provide technical training or technical information to customers as required
Regularly collect and report market information regarding competitors, trends, and product development opportunities
Represent the company at open houses, trade shows, and industry groups
Make consistently good scheduling decisions about visiting customers throughout the territory, making efficient use of time and resources
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s)
Communication, sales, and customer service skills
Fundamental technical knowledge of truck chassis and vacuum trucks
Knowledge of basic computer, Excel spreadsheet, and email functions
Common business practices relating to the purchase, pricing, terms, shipment, taxes, and payment for products and services
Education and Experience
Two years sales or customer service experience in the vacuum truck, construction equipment, construction or rental industry
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted
Working Conditions
80% travel
