Brief Description The Product Specialist, Hardware Solutions will assist product managers in improving existing products and developing new products across panels, keypads, translators, repeaters, sensors, and other products. They will research industry trends, conduct sales team and customer surveys, review reports, and attend events to obtain intelligence on the security industry.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience working with technical product lines
Strong problem‑solving skills
Able to work effectively with cross‑functional teams in a business setting
Driven by deadlines; a self‑starter with strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking abilities
Adept at working on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
Excellent presentation skills to large and small, demanding technical audiences
Ability to keep information in confidence
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated excellent attendance and punctuality with good work attitude and ability to work cooperatively with others in the department and company

Typical Duties And Responsibilities
Develop a deep understanding of all DMP products by working with DMP product managers, engineering team members, and technical support personnel.
Participate in customer visits and discussions to identify and fill product gaps while generating new ideas to help grow market share, improve customer experience, and drive growth.
Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with engineering, software quality assurance, internal and external customers providing clear direction, planning, clarification, guidance, decisions, status, and issue resolution.
Create detailed product specifications, based on direction from Product Managers.
Assists Product Manager to create buy‑in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
Assists Product Managers in prioritizing activities based on business and customer impact.
Assists with the collection of market intelligence by working with customers and the market in which we operate—Security, Access Control, Video, and Fire.
Works closely with the Project Manager and cross‑functional teams to deliver quality products, services, training and support with quick time‑to‑market. Drives product launches.
Represents DMP by attending trade show events and visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services.
Reviews and assists in the creation of technical documents, promotional plans, marketing and training materials to ensure they are consistent with the product line strategy.
