As a Security Analyst within PNC’s Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA; Cleveland, OH; Birmingham, AL; Dallas, TX or Lakewood, CO. Job Duties Provide technical evaluation and analysis, and support activities, processes, and tools needed to improve the overall security posture of the organization. Apply security concepts, review information, execute defined tasks, analyze requirements, review logs, and create documentation. Perform investigation, data‑loss prevention, data manipulation, and coordination of activities. Perform actions to address or mitigate risks and vulnerabilities, and review and define controls. Advise on complex security procedures and products for clients, security administrators, and network operations. Participate in enforcing control security risks and threats; share knowledge with staff. Conduct security assessments and other information security routines consistently, and recommend corrective actions for data security according to established guidelines. Key Responsibilities Analyze information, follow defined security processes, and execute assigned security tasks with attention to detail. Identify potential risks and support remediation efforts under guidance. Communicate security findings, vulnerabilities, and risks in clear, approachable terms to developers, product managers, and non‑security partners. Coach and educate partners on security processes and expectations, reinforcing consistent and repeatable security practices. Work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams. Apply Agile delivery concepts such as Scrum and Kanban to security activities. Qualifications Knowledge of common application security concepts and vulnerability types (e.g., OWASP Top10) and the ability to learn how they apply in real‑world systems. Exposure to the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and an interest in understanding where security fits in design, development, and testing activities. Analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify potential risks and support remediation efforts. Effective communication skills, explaining security findings clearly to developers, product managers, and non‑security partners. Willingness to coach and educate partners on security processes and expectations. Ability to work independently and as part of cross‑functional teams. Familiarity with Agile delivery concepts (Scrum, Kanban). Preferred Qualifications Hands‑on exposure to application security, secure coding concepts, or software development. Familiarity with security testing concepts or tools (e.g., vulnerability scanning results, SAST/DAST outputs). Knowledge of security frameworks, standards, or best practices (e.g., OWASP, NIST) or strong interest in developing that knowledge. Exposure to cloud computing concepts or modern application architectures (e.g., APIs, microservices). Entry‑level or foundational security certifications (e.g., Security+, GIAC Fundamentals) or progress toward a relevant certification. Demonstrated interest in application security, product security, or secure software development through academic projects, personal learning, or prior roles. Strong documentation skills, creating clear notes, assessments, and evidence to support security processes and controls. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job‑specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered. Education Bachelor’s degree. Certifications None required. Salary Base Salary: $55,000 – $128,800 per year. Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data, and the candidate’s skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive‑eligible based on company, business, and/or individual performance.
