Duties Help
- You will establish and monitor DRPM-SUBS security policies and procedures in accordance with public law, DoD, and DON instructions and directives.
- You will serve as the principal architect of an innovative Security Program and lead organizational capability maintenance.
- You will implement procedures for safeguarding DRPM-SUBS assets across all security disciplines.
- You will serve as Command POC for all Security matters and act as Command Security Manager (CSM).
- You will be appointed as Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information Officer (NNPICO), OPSEC PM, ATO, and CPO.
- You will participate in Emergency Management, Anti-Terrorism, OPSEC, Security Coordination, and COOP working groups.
- You will coordinate with NAVSEA Security, Naval Reactors, HRO, Legal, NCIS, and local authorities on security matters.
- You will lead or support inter-agency study groups to resolve security system issues requiring innovative solutions.
- You will maintain knowledge of DRPM-SUBS security initiatives, strategies, and emerging threat trends.
- You will lead analytical and evaluative services to ensure integrity of mission and security disciplines.
- You will develop and mentor security staff and ensure required training and certifications are completed.
- You will provide leadership for protection of classified and unclassified critical and sensitive information.
- You will oversee Security Management Programs including Information, Personnel, Physical, OPSEC, Industrial, and Insider Threat.
- You will develop long and short-range security strategies supporting organizational mission requirements.
- You will advise the COO, executive leadership, and program directors on all security matters.
- You will establish and maintain all DRPM-SUBS security policies for multiple security programs and COOP.
- You will serve as lead POC for external security agencies including NAVY-wide security, OPM, and DCSA.
- You will serve as master advisor on personnel security and technical authority for Naval Nuclear Propulsion information.
- You will assess and project budgetary and physical security requirements including IDS, alarms, and classified storage.
- You will prepare reports, conduct training, and make critical security decisions involving threats, insider risk, and emergency response actions.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- This is a Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD) position and requires DoD certification. Selectee must obtain and maintain certification within prescribed timeframes. Certification required is: SFPC, ISOC, ATC (see: Additional Info)
- This is a Key Security Cooperation Workforce (SCW) position and requires a DoD SCW Certification. Selectee must obtain and maintain certification within prescribed timeframes. SCW level required: Operations and Management, Level: Advanced
Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS 12/13 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading and overseeing enterprise security programs to establish policies, coordinate across agencies, and advise leadership to ensure compliance in order to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and safeguard personnel, assets and mission for a naval program.
