A specialist contractor is looking to appoint a Senior Smoke Ventilation Designer / Estimator to support the continued growth of its engineering division. The role focuses on the design, estimation and technical development of mechanical and natural smoke ventilation systems across residential and mixed-use developments. Working closely with fire engineers, consultants and project teams, you will be responsible for developing compliant smoke control solutions, preparing project costings and supporting projects through design, Gateway 2 compliance and delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a technically focused business delivering complex smoke control and life safety systems on high-profile developments.
Requirements Proven experience designing smoke ventilation or smoke control systems Experience with smoke shafts, corridor ventilation and stair pressurisation systems Ability to interpret fire strategies, CFD modelling outputs and architectural drawings Experience preparing estimates, quotations and tender submissions Strong understanding of relevant smoke control standards and regulations Experience using AutoCAD or similar design software Strong technical communication and coordination skills
Desirable Experience supporting Gateway 2 submissions Knowledge of smoke ventilation control systems and fire alarm integration Experience working on residential or high-rise developments Experience using Simpro or similar estimating software
Package £55,000 - £65,000 Office-based role in Essex with occasional site visits Opportunity to work on large and technically complex residential developments Ongoing training and professional development Pension scheme Long-term career progression within a growing specialist contractor
