Patient Admissions & Care Planning: Collaborates with the Charge Nurse on admission orders and medication sheets, assists in developing and updating care plans based on patient condition changes Patient Assessment & Reporting: Performs assessments when notified of patient condition changes, reporting findings to the Charge Nurse and providers as requested Medication Management: Dispenses oral medications, administers IV, IM, and subcutaneous medications under RN supervision, reports medication errors, conducts narcotic counts, and gives inhalation therapy Discharges & Care Level Changes: Notifies pharmacy of patient status changes, supervises patient/caregiver education, arranges follow-up care, removes devices, and ensures home medications are returned during discharge Emergency Care & Skills: Assists in ER/treatment room care, gathers patient information, calls for additional help during emergencies, and performs skilled procedures like IVs, catheterization, and dressing changes under RN supervision Documentation & Infection Control: Completes all necessary documentation, including medication, treatment, and acute/swing bed conditions, maintains patient Kardex, performs safety checks, and logs/reports infectious incidents while ensuring isolation precautions

Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing ND State Board of Nursing current LPN License. (Licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the state of ND or in a compact state. Graduate Practical Nurse (G.P.N.) must practice under the supervision of a registered nurse while the work authorization to practice is valid).
