The analyst collaborates with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, applying strong communication and analytical skills to help translate business needs into system requirements. They work under guidance from senior analysts or project leaders, managing assigned tasks with increasing independence while building domain knowledge and technical understanding.
The Business Systems Analyst I contributes to team success by supporting project documentation, participating in solution design discussions, and helping maintain project momentum. Success in this role requires a willingness to learn, attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work while developing professional and technical skills.
Responsibilities
Work with clients to gather system requirements and produce detailed requirements and functional specification documents to solve moderately complex problems within information systems.
Analyze business and user needs, document requirements, and revise existing system logic difficulties as necessary.
Validate, analysed and import initial and final data as approved by the customer.
Work closely with the development team to ensure requirements are fully understood and provide assistance with overcoming obstacles faced during development.
Conduct system testing at the development site and at the client site to validate requirements.
Train end users and provide user support while ensuring the use of up-to-date user manuals during the operation phase or as requested by the supervisor.
Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for user acceptance and ensure quality standards.
Expand or modify systems to serve new purposes or improve current operations.
Define the goals of the system and devise flow charts and diagrams describing the logical operational steps of programs.
Serve as project leaders for particular systems projects.
Document the experience in current projects to find new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve targeting, measurements, and projects success in the future.
Document reports design and specifications for custom reports development or modification.
Provide support to the development team during development and testing.
Contribute to project documentation by updating project binders and project sites as stated.
Complete project tasks within established deadlines and communicate delivery status to project team and management on a timely basis.
Participation in the sales cycle will also be required. Consultants should be able to function equally as well independently or as part of a larger implementation team.
Work with the product development team to identify potential product enhancements.
Communicate with customers, competitors, suppliers, professional organizations, or others to stay abreast of industry or business trends.
Communicate effectively with business representatives at all levels of the organization.
Perform other tasks related to project or customer activities, as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications
Excellent understanding or ERP fundamental software and tools.
Knowledge of common best practice financial, accounting and business practices.
Possess knowledge of governmental or local regulations that affect.
Strong knowledge of systems’ implementation and testing methodology, best practices, and project phases.
Ability to easily adapt to fast‑paced environment.
Flexible during times of change, and deadline proximities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills both in Spanish and English.
Proficient using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, and Access).
Must be oriented to detail, teamwork and customer service.
Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
High sense of professionalism.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to communicate and work fluently with business users, technical people and management across the organization.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Proficient using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook).
Advance knowledge of Excel data management functionalities (e.g. macros, pivots), and financial reporting tools such as FRX and Management Reporter.
Demonstrate an expert understanding of a variety of software modules including (but not limited to) General Ledger, Sales Order Processing and Accounts Receivables.
Management, Purchasing and Payables Management, Human Resources, Payroll, Fixed.
Assets and Bank Reconciliation. Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Not-for-Profit and Governmental Accounting Standard Board (GASB) principles.
Basic understanding of multi‑currency concepts.
Basic knowledge of SQL, database and infrastructure concepts for ERP deployment.
Understanding of Quality Assurance and Testing Principles
This is a hybrid position, requiring a blend of remote and in‑office work. Additionally, the role includes on‑site visits to customers as needed, so candidates should be comfortable with traveling to all PR municipalities.
