The Senior Software Engineer – Frontend is responsible for developing high-quality, scalable web applications with a strong focus on frontend engineering while also contributing to backend development. This role involves hands‑on coding, optimizing application performance, designing intuitive user interfaces, and ensuring seamless integration across systems. The engineer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, lead architectural decisions, mentor junior developers, and drive engineering excellence across the organization. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain frontend and backend features, spending the majority of time on hands‑on coding, debugging, and code reviews. Implement and customize CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation to enhance UI functionality and design. Optimize site speed and overall performance, ensuring efficient resource utilization and minimal load times. Utilize Node.js to build scalable backend services and handle asynchronous operations effectively. Design and develop RESTful APIs to support secure and efficient communication between systems. Work with SQL and NoSQL databases for data storage, retrieval, and performance optimization. Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Stay updated on emerging technologies and contribute to architectural decision‑making for frontend and backend systems. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure cohesive user experiences and effective system integration. Monitor application health, enhance quality, and address performance issues proactively. Contribute to innovation initiatives and advocate for the adoption of modern technologies. Manage project timelines and deliver high‑quality work within deadlines. Lead technical initiatives, provide guidance, and support cross‑team coordination. Required Qualifications Technical Skills Experience with CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation. Strong understanding of site speed optimization techniques. Proficiency with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB). Knowledge of asynchronous programming and event‑driven architecture in Node.js. Experience with backend performance optimization. Understanding of security best practices for application development. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure. Experience with DevOps practices and tools. General Skills 7+ years of full‑stack development experience in complex web applications. Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring junior team members. Experience working in e‑commerce or marketplace environments. Involvement in open‑source contributions or internal platform initiatives. Preferred Qualifications Experience contributing to architectural strategy and technical design. Background working with large‑scale, high‑performance web applications. Familiarity with modern frontend optimization tools and techniques.
