Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. Preferred: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography or Mammography certification

Must be able to work as a team and independently with minimal supervision. Highly developed problem-solving skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs a variety of radiologic examinations as prescribed by physicians in accordance with the Radiology Departments policies and procedures including but not limited to x-ray, fluoroscopy, surgical procedures, and computed tomography.
Practices radiation safety for patients, families and fellow employees. Prepares and administer contrast media as prescribed by the physician. Assures all consent forms are adequately completed and signed.
Promotes effective working relations and work effectively as part of a team with all hospital personnel Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment. Handles incoming and outgoing phone calls in a courteous and respectful manner.
Receives and relays messages to appropriate personnel. Screens calls and routes to the proper person or department, giving out limited information.
Schedules exams with the appropriate preparation instructions. Interprets/transcribes physician orders with appropriate CPT and ICD10 codes.
Works a rotation of call shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
Response time should be no longer than 30 minutes. Weekend coverage includes in house coverage of the Cherokee Regional Medical Clinics weekend hours.
Assists in training and orientation of other employees. Assists with training of radiology students. Assists in stocking department supplies.
