MANTECH seeks a career and customer-oriented Command Aware/Radio Systems Administrator Lead to join our team in Alexandria, VA, Philadelphia, PA, or Chandler, AZ . This is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week.
In this leadership role, you will spearhead the administration, data integrity, and cross‑functional coordination of our Command Aware systems, ensuring seamless tactical communications and robust data management across the entire Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Responsibilities
Lead Command Aware coordination efforts to continuously update, maintain, and validate critical operational data (System Administration & Data Updates).
Synchronize directly with field personnel to plan, manage, and execute comprehensive, AOR‑wide system and data updates (AOR‑Wide Field Coordination).
Accurately update radios within the Command Aware platform with designated call signs and organize structural folders with radio user profiles (Identity & Call Sign Management).
Collaborate closely with TACCOM staff to implement, manage, and coordinate essential updates to the alias database for communication consoles (Console Database Integration).
Establish, monitor, and enforce rigorous processes for data backup, secure storage, and historical tracking to preserve system auditing (Data Resilience & Governance).
Draft technical policies, operational procedures, and work instructions to build a robust records management framework (Standardization & Records Management).
Required Qualifications
Right degree and experience: bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network/Telecommunications Engineering or a related field and 8+ years of work experience; or doctorate and 4+ years; or associate and 10+ years; or high school diploma/GED and 12+ years.
Proven experience operating as an IT Systems Engineer or Network & Systems Administrator within a complex enterprise environment.
Demonstrated experience coordinating large-scale data updates, tracking historical changes, and managing alias databases or configurations across distributed teams.
Proven ability to engineer and implement reliable data backup, storage, and long-term records management procedures.
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and oversee teams to ensure successful project delivery and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience specifically administering or leading coordination within Motorola Command Aware or closely related tactical management suites.
Advanced background in authoring formal technical policies, compliance procedures, and organizational guidelines for federal or regulated systems.
Security Clearance Requirements
Must be a U.S. citizen and must be able to obtain and maintain agency suitability (fitness determination) prior to starting this position.
Position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co‑workers, management, and customers via email, phone, and/or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
