_*Please read this before you submit an application. The first step in our process is a short Culture Index survey (you may need to copy and paste the link directly into a browser)*_: https://go.cultureindex.com/p/eUGfMlzphNwyGhYAD
The Culture Index survey is a brief, work-style questionnaire. It is not a skills test, an IQ test, or something you can pass or fail, and there are no right or wrong answers. It simply helps us understand how you naturally work, so we can make sure this role is a strong fit for you as much as for us.
Set aside a few uninterrupted minutes, read each instruction carefully, and answer honestly. Take your time and pay attention. The more accurately your responses reflect you, the more useful the results are for both of us. _*Applications are reviewed only after the survey is complete.*_

*About Zelifcam*
Zelifcam is a software partner with more than two decades of experience building custom technology for organizations that need solutions fit to their exact problems, not off-the-shelf compromises. We are based in San Antonio, Texas, and our entire development team works from the US.
We serve clients of every size, from early-stage startups to established enterprises, across real estate, manufacturing, medical, legal, and IT. What stays constant is our focus on clear communication and on shipping software that does the job it was built to do.
*About Our Work*
Our work spans the full range, from greenfield custom builds to keeping established legacy systems healthy and supported. We develop for desktop, web, and mobile, back it with both automated and manual QA, and run delivery through agile project management.
Whatever the engagement, the goal is the same: software that fits the client's real business and respects their budget.
*Position Overview*
We are hiring a Project Manager to take custom software projects from a first conversation to a finished, deployed product, and to own everything in between. You will set scope and direction, run the schedule, and be the person clients and engineers both rely on to make the call when one needs to be made.
This is a lead-from-the-front role. You will turn business goals into a workable plan, keep cross-functional teams moving, surface risk before it becomes a problem, and hold the project to its commitments. If you do your best work with real ownership and little hand-holding, you will fit here.
Key Responsibilities
* Own full lifecycle planning and execution for custom software projects from initial scoping through deployment
* Define project scope, requirements, milestones, and success metrics with clients and internal teams
* Create structured timelines, roadmaps, sprint plans, and task breakdowns based on project goals
* Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between design, development, and QA teams
* Manage client communication, provide regular updates, and facilitate feedback loops
* Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on schedule
* Monitor progress, adjust plans dynamically, and maintain project documentation
* Ensure deliverables meet functional, design, and performance expectations before release
* Oversee testing cycles, bug triage, release readiness, and post-launch support planning
* Maintain project budgets, track time allocation, and ensure efficient resource usage
* Support ongoing maintenance and legacy system projects with clear prioritization and planning
* Translate technical concepts into clear, accessible explanations for non-technical stakeholders
* Leverage modern PM tools and AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency and clarity
* Facilitate agile ceremonies and promote transparent, consistent communication across teams
Required Qualifications
* 5+ years of project management experience in custom software development
* Proven ability to manage full project lifecycles from scoping to deployment and maintenance
* Strong understanding of modern software development practices, including Agile, Scrum, and iterative delivery
* Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams including design, development, and QA
* Experience managing timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies
* Familiarity with technical concepts such as APIs, databases, cloud services, and mobile/web architectures
* Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, ClickUp, Asana, Trello, or similar) and documentation platforms
* High level of organization with strong prioritization and task-tracking skills
* Excellent communication skills for collaboration with US-based clients and internal teams
* Demonstrated ability to translate between technical and non-technical language
* Adaptability and comfort managing projects with shifting requirements or evolving scope
* Learning mindset with enthusiasm for improving processes, tools, and team workflows
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience managing multiple software projects simultaneously in an agency or fast-paced environment
* Familiarity with microservices, cloud architectures, and modern software deployment practices
* Understanding of QA processes including automated and manual testing workflows
* Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and collaborating with DevOps teams
* Background supporting legacy software modernization efforts and long-term maintenance projects
* Ability to navigate and coordinate API integrations, third-party services, and multi-system dependencies
* Familiarity with real-time application features, mobile app workflows, and cross-platform development considerations
* Comfort running client demos, stakeholder reviews, and post-launch retrospectives
* Strong documentation habits and experience improving internal project processes
* Knowledge of agile frameworks and PM methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid models
Education and Certifications
* A bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience
* An active project management certification is preferred. Examples include PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), and SAFe
What We Offer
You will own meaningful work for real clients across industries, backed by a US-based team that values judgment over box-checking. We offer room to grow, flexibility, and a culture built on autonomy.
*Perks:* Full-time role with a competitive salary, 401(k), and PTO. Health benefits begin after 90 days.
*Professional Growth:* Ongoing exposure to new stacks, frameworks, and industries, with the latitude to recommend the tools and technology you think the work needs.
*Tech Variety:* A genuine mix of projects, from modern web applications to mobile builds, each matched to the right tools for the job.
*Team & Culture:* High autonomy, direct communication, and a team that trusts you to make decisions and run with them.
*Ideal Candidate*
You do not run every project the same way. You read what a given project, team, and client actually need, choose the approach that fits, and adjust as scope and stakeholders shift, without losing the thread. You are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and standing behind them.
You treat AI as a genuine part of your toolkit, using it to speed up documentation, surface risk, draft timelines, and sharpen communication. But you lead on your own judgment, not the tool's. Critical thinking, real experience, and the willingness to make an unpopular call are what move your projects forward.
You delegate cleanly and hold the right people accountable, rather than absorbing work to feel needed. You push back on clients and teams when the project calls for it, deliver hard news plainly, and keep everyone aligned on what matters. You measure yourself by what ships and how well it holds up, not by how comfortable the path felt.
