Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: Minimum one year of general work experience preferred Certifications: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers within 90 days required; PPMAB within 90 days required
Responsibilities of a PCT Apprentice:
Actively participate and complete all components of the Children's Health Patient Care Technician Apprenticeship Program Prepare rooms for patient admission with appropriate equipment and supplies based on age and needs of patient Perform basic patient care tasks including baths, vital signs, positioning, ambulating, appropriate disposal of hazardous waste Documentation of intake/output or other tasks delegated by the registered nurse (RN) within the scope of job duties Phlebotomy - Develop basic skills in the performance of a variety of blood collection methods using proper techniques and universal precautions. Actively practice infection prevention, proper patient identification, labeling specimens and quality assurance, specimen handling, processing and accessioning
