Evaluation/treatment of injury/illness to intercollegiate student-athletes. Provide emergency medical coverage during athletic events/practices/travel for teams. Refer ill/injured athletes to team physicians/consultants regarding injuries/illnesses/care. Administration of Department athletic accident insurance policy Communicate effectively with coaches/student-athletes regarding injuries/playing status. Counseling/advising intercollegiate student-athletes/coaches regarding health/conditioning/illness/injury. Act as a clinical preceptor for Athletic Training Students, should CAATE accredited program place students at our site. Design/modify appropriate individual rehab of post-surgical/post-injury conditions. Maintain medical/administrative records. Apply appropriate protective padding/braces/strapping/other orthotic devices.
Qualifications: The Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers certification required. NATA certification and Virginia State License required. CPR/AED certification required. National Provider Identification (NPI) number required. Football experience is preferred. A successful criminal background check is required. This is a full-time, 10-month position, July 15 - May 31, with benefits. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until filled.
