Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where your journey in medical imaging begins under the guidance of experienced radiologic technologists. This role offers the opportunity to develop hands-on skills with radiologic imaging equipment, assisting in producing diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation while adhering to all regulatory standards. General Summary Working under indirect supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist and general supervision of the Chief Technologist, you will support patient services by performing imaging studies and assisting other medical imaging divisions as trained. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Welcome patients, visitors, and staff with professionalism and courtesy. Verify patient identity and confirm exams according to current policies. Conduct MRI screening interviews to identify examination areas and detect contraindications. Review prescriptions, patient history, and obtain consent when necessary. Maintain awareness of patient needs while assisting technologists. Manage inventory by monitoring and replenishing supplies. Ensure a safe and clean work environment by following procedures and regulations. Coordinate patient scheduling with clerical staff and technologists to maintain efficient workflow. Perform scheduling and registration tasks as required.
Education Applicants must be currently enrolled in good standing in a radiology or imaging-based college or certification program. Experience Completion of at least one year of training in the field is required. Certification/License Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory. Mental and Physical Requirements This role demands close mental and visual attention for extended periods and the ability to work under stressful conditions due to patient needs. Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, carrying or lifting up to 35 pounds, turning, pushing, pulling, and stooping. Working Conditions Potential exposure to infectious diseases, unpleasant odors, anesthetics, disinfectants, chemicals, and controlled radiation. The position may require regular or scheduled on-call duties and varied shifts to ensure continuous patient care.
