Reports to President / Executive Leadership Team
*Position Overview*
The Dealer Success Manager / Field Installation Lead is responsible for managing key dealership accounts—typically one to a couple of locations per dealership—overseeing the full CarChief installation process at dealership sites and leading a small team of technician/installers per deployment. This role combines strategic account management with hands-on field leadership—ensuring every dealership goes live on CarChief smoothly, on schedule, and to a high standard of quality. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable presenting to dealership principals, coordinating logistics, and running an installation crew on the shop floor.
*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*
*Account Management*
* Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned dealership accounts throughout the full customer lifecycle.
* Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships across dealership principals, GMs, and Sales, F&I, Service, and BDC departments.
* Consult with dealerships on CarChief’s SaaS platform, hardware modules, portal features, and best practices for maximizing adoption across departments.
* Proactively identify upsell and expansion opportunities across the dealership’s rooftop portfolio.
* Monitor account health, product adoption metrics, and satisfaction levels; address risks before they escalate.
* Monitor each assigned dealership’s CarChief inventory levels and proactively coordinate replenishment to prevent gaps in service.
* Train dealership staff on all aspects of the CarChief portal, ensuring confident, effective daily use across departments.
* Run account metrics and interpret data to draw meaningful conclusions, identify trends, and recommend clear next steps for each dealership.
* Maintain weekly cadence calls with each dealership to review metrics, address open items, capture new requests, and serve as their ongoing strategic partner—this ongoing account management and relationship development is the primary focus of the role.
*Field Installation Leadership*
* Lead on-site CarChief installations at dealerships, managing a crew of technician/installers per engagement.
* Plan and sequence each installation project: pre-site survey, equipment staging, crew scheduling, and go-live validation.
* Assign daily tasks to installers, monitor progress against the installation plan, and adjust resources as needed to hit milestones.
* Serve as the on-site authority for quality control—inspect completed installations, ensure compliance with CarChief standards, and sign off before departure.
* Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, or software issues in real time; escalate to development only when field resolution is not possible.
* Conduct a structured dealership walkthrough upon completion, training key staff on system use and confirming satisfaction before leaving the site.
* Maintain accurate installation records, site photos, punch lists, and completion checklists for every deployment.
* Provide post-installation support and coordinate any follow-up visits required to resolve open items.
* Set performance expectations, provide real-time coaching during installations, and conduct after-action debriefs.
* Ensure all installers are trained on the latest CarChief hardware revisions, installation procedures, and safety standards.
* Track installer availability, certifications, and travel schedules to staff deployments efficiently.
* Identify top performers and recommend advancement; flag and address underperformance promptly.
*Operations & Logistics*
* Develop and refine installation playbooks, SOPs, and checklists to improve repeatability and reduce install time.
* Report project status, installation metrics, and field issues to leadership on a regular cadence.
*Customer Success & Support*
* Ensure every dealership receives outstanding service from pre-sale through post-installation and ongoing SaaS usage.
* Act as escalation point for activation, technical, or service issues affecting national accounts.
* Deliver dealership staff training on CarChief’s platform, BDC tools, and module functionality at go-live and as needed.
* Gather and relay field feedback to the product and engineering teams to inform the CarChief roadmap.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications & Skills*
* 5+ years of experience in account management, field operations, or a technical sales/installation role.
* Demonstrated experience managing small crews or field technician teams in a structured project environment.
* Background in automotive retail, dealership technology, automotive SaaS, or wireless/IoT hardware strongly preferred.
* Hands-on technical aptitude: comfortable working with hardware installations and SaaS platforms.
* Strong project management and organizational skills.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); solid Excel skills for reporting and metrics analysis preferred.
* Excellent communicator—equally effective with a dealership GM in a boardroom and a technician on the shop floor.
* Proven ability to hold a team accountable, resolve conflict, and maintain quality under time pressure.
* Willingness and ability to travel nationally on a regular basis (50–75% expected).
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
