Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Phlebotomy Technician responsible for obtaining specimens used in diagnostic testing, transfusions, and research. This role primarily involves collecting, processing, and delivering specimens to the appropriate laboratory sections while maintaining a clean and well-stocked phlebotomy station. The position serves a diverse patient population ranging from newborns to the elderly. Essential Responsibilities
Properly dispose of sharps and biohazardous waste following safety protocols. Collect and process specimens accurately and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and supply levels at outpatient draw stations. Adhere to privacy and security regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI). Communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships with patients, healthcare team members, and external agencies. Perform additional duties as assigned. Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Preferred: One year of related experience or training. Licenses and Certifications
Current BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider required within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation. Must pass a color blindness test prior to start date. Preferred: Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification from ASCP. Skills and Abilities
Basic computer and math skills. Strong communication skills.
Physical Requirements This role involves light work, occasionally exerting up to 25 pounds and frequently up to 10 pounds. Standing or walking may be required 11-25% of the workday. Accommodations may be provided as needed.
