Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, including infection control and safe patient handling. Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as prescribed. Assist providers during procedures, maintain sterile fields, and manage instrument trays. Support examinations within the scope of licensure and perform phone triage. Serve as a liaison between patients and providers, communicating test results and addressing patient inquiries. Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences. Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs, height, and weight. Manage and update medication lists and summaries. Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered. Educate patients on electronic health record tools and provide supportive teaching. Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary authorizations. Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols. Demonstrate accountability, adaptability, teamwork, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards.
Education Graduate of an accredited LPN program with completion of an approved IV therapy course. Experience Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory. Certifications and Licenses Current LPN license valid in the state of Missouri and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required. Physical and Mental Requirements This role requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 35 lbs, and various physical movements such as turning, stooping, and reaching. The position involves exposure to infectious and communicable diseases and occasional interaction with challenging individuals.
