Job Summary: Deliver top-quality healthcare by expertly using ionizing radiation to produce diagnostic images for licensed practitioners. This role involves performing a variety of radiographic procedures with professionalism and precision. Essential Responsibilities:
Conduct diagnostic radiographic exams, ensuring patient history aligns with procedures and documentation is thorough. Prepare and instruct patients to achieve optimal imaging results while minimizing anxiety. Operate radiography equipment and accessories skillfully to perform required procedures. Position patients appropriately, considering comfort and ability, and immobilize when necessary. Determine and apply correct radiographic exposure techniques. Implement radiation safety principles to protect patients, self, and others. Assess image quality and ensure proper identification is recorded. Attend to patients' physical and psychological needs during procedures. Practice aseptic techniques and perform venipunctures as needed. Prepare, identify, and administer contrast media under licensed practitioner guidance. Assist with interventional and fluoroscopic procedures, including non-interpretive tasks. May perform catheter anchoring and initiate basic life support when required. Educate patients about tests and procedures to foster understanding and cooperation. Maintain assigned areas, report equipment issues, and manage supplies. Provide practical instruction to students and healthcare professionals. Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives. Adhere to all relevant standards and policies. May participate in on-call duties to support technical assistance or shift coverage as needed. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology. Computer proficiency is necessary. Licensure and Certifications:
Must hold state certification for radiography. Graduate from an accredited radiography program with an active student license at start date. Registry eligible and must obtain R.T.(R) ARRT certification within six months of hire.
This position is based in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
