Job Summary: The Endoscopy Technician plays a vital role in supporting physicians and registered nurses during endoscopic procedures by providing skilled assistance and ensuring all instruments and supplies are properly maintained. This position involves preparing and monitoring equipment, cleaning and sterilizing endoscopes, and assisting with patient care and transport. Essential Responsibilities:
Assist physicians with procedural tasks related to endoscopy. Monitor and process instruments and equipment according to established standards and guidelines. Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize endoscopes and related accessories. Collect tissue specimens following protocol and guidelines. Support registered nurses in patient care and transportation. Prioritize tasks effectively and adjust priorities as needed.
Education and Experience: Completion of Endoscopy Technician education or Certified Surgical Technician (CST) credential is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with 1-2 years of relevant experience are favored. Licensure and Certifications: Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) as a CST is preferred. Work Schedule: This is a full-time position on the first shift, with scheduled weekly hours totaling 40. This opportunity is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
