Perform CT procedures, ensuring patient clinical history aligns with the exam and documenting information for licensed practitioners. Prepare patients by providing clear instructions to achieve optimal results, encourage cooperation, and reduce anxiety. Select appropriate exam protocols as directed by Radiologists and adhere to approved CT policies and procedures. Immobilize patients as needed for accurate examinations while respecting their comfort and abilities. Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others. Position patients to best display the anatomical area of interest. Verify informed consent and assist licensed practitioners with interventional CT procedures, applying aseptic techniques. Address patients' physical and psychological needs during procedures. Perform venipunctures as required. Prepare, operate, and maintain equipment used for contrast administration, patient monitoring, and surgical interventions. Administer contrast media and medications as prescribed by licensed practitioners. Evaluate image quality and adjust display parameters accordingly. Initiate basic life support when necessary. Complete all computer functions related to patient histories, indications, and exam charges. Educate patients about tests and procedures. Maintain assigned areas, report equipment issues, and ensure cleanliness and supply restocking. Provide input on supply decisions and practical instruction to students or healthcare professionals. Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives, including quality control duties. Assist in other departmental areas as needed. Maintain knowledge of sterile supplies and techniques for CT procedures. Recognize anatomical structures via computer-generated systems. Care for patients considering their age and diagnosis with appropriate medical skills and common sense. Maintain proficiency with 3D workstations, including image reformatting and reconstruction. Manage imaging media release to authorized institutions, patients, or nursing units. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an approved School of Radiographic Technology. Computer proficiency. Experienced radiographer with knowledge to successfully perform CT procedures and basic understanding of cross-sectional anatomy. Licensure and Certifications:
Certified by the relevant state authority. Registered Technologist (R.T. (R)) ARRT credential in good standing. Maintain or obtain CT credential (R.T. (R) (CT)) within two years of employment.
Work shift: 4th shift in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
