High School diploma or GED equivalent
Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field from an accredited institution
Work Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year EKG work experience
Education and training with EKG clinical rotation experience are required Licenses/Certifications:
Certification in EKG Technology
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Specialized knowledge in EKG concepts and methodology
Competency in emergency response procedures
Proficiency in diagnostic testing for cardiac conditions
Ability to manage a multifaceted work environment Essential Functions:
Produce accurate EKG recordings for diagnostic use
Schedule patient appointments and monitor heart rates
Offer clear explanations of procedures to patients
Utilize electrodes to obtain diagnostic prints
Keep EKG equipment in optimal working condition
Recognize abnormal EKG patterns and escalate as required
Conduct assessments on patients of varying conditions and age groups
Maintain effective relationships with department personnel
Other Duties: May perform other responsibilities and engage in special projects as needed. Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds
Must have corrected vision and hearing
Exposure to infectious and contagious diseases may occur
Must handle emergency and/or crisis situations competently
Required to wear protective equipment when necessary
Effective performance in stressful and fast-paced situations
Must pass all required health and other screenings, including drug tests.
