Registration and Discharge: Expertly manage patient registration and discharge processes using EMR systems such as Meditech and PACS. Verify insurance and identification, review diagnosis and procedural codes for accuracy, and ensure billing correctness. Communicate care plans clearly with patients before discharge and handle telephone communications collaboratively with providers and nursing staff. Clinical Support: Prepare patients for examinations based on their presenting complaints. Promptly notify nursing or providers of urgent cases. Collect and document initial patient data in compliance with clinic policies. Assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures and obtain necessary authorizations. Diagnostic Testing and Treatment: Perform diagnostic imaging following established protocols, ensuring high-quality digital images. Adhere strictly to radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff. Operate and troubleshoot radiology equipment efficiently. Maintain documentation of treatments and patient responses. Demonstrate proficiency in related clinical skills such as splinting, phlebotomy, urine drug screening, and EKG testing. Medication Administration: Administer medications as directed by providers, documenting accurately in the EMR. Ensure pharmaceutical records comply with regulatory standards. Supply Management: Order and manage clinic supplies responsibly to maintain operational efficiency. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a Limited or Associate Degree Radiology Technologist program; Associate Degree preferred. Working knowledge of medical terminology, procedural, and diagnostic coding. Proficient computer skills. Basic Life Support certification (may be obtained upon hire). Tuberculin Screening Tester Certification (may be obtained upon hire). At least one year of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in family medicine, orthopedics, or immediate care.
Licensure: Must hold a valid Radiology Technologist certification from the state health department. Work Shift: Varied shifts totaling 38 hours per week.
