Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensuring patient clinical history aligns with the procedure and is properly documented. Prepare and instruct patients to achieve optimal imaging results while minimizing anxiety. Operate radiography equipment and accessories to complete procedures successfully. Position patients to best display the anatomical area of interest, respecting their comfort and abilities. Immobilize patients as needed for accurate examinations. Determine appropriate radiographic exposure factors and apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others. Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded. Address both physical and psychological patient needs during procedures. Practice aseptic techniques when necessary and perform venipunctures as required. Prepare, identify, and administer contrast media as prescribed by licensed practitioners. Verify informed consent and assist with interventional and fluoroscopic procedures. May perform non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures and assist with urinary catheter anchoring if instructed. Initiate basic life support actions when necessary. Provide patient education regarding tests and procedures. Maintain assigned areas, report equipment malfunctions, and assist with supply management. Offer practical instruction to students and healthcare professionals. Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives. Adhere to all applicable standards and policies. May participate in on-call duties to provide technical assistance or shift coverage as needed. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology. Computer proficiency is necessary. Licensure and Certifications:
Must hold state certification for radiography. Graduate from an accredited radiography program with an active student license at start date. Registry eligible and must obtain R.T.(R) ARRT certification within six months of hire.
Work Shift: Part-time, 32 hours per week, primarily first shift. Regional location: Midwest United States.
