Duties & Responsibilities:Evaluate, diagnose, and treat athletic injuries and medical conditions affecting student-athletes. Develop and implement injury prevention programs. Provide immediate care and emergency response for injuries during practices and games. Design and supervise rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols for injured athletes. Maintain confidential medical records and injury reports for all student-athletes using electronic health record system in coordination with the Health and Wellness Center. Coordinate pre-participation medical clearances. Ensure compliance with NCAA DIII health and safety regulations. Develop and update emergency action plans for athletic facilities. Monitor and manage athletic training supplies, equipment, and budget. Communicate student-athlete health status and participation recommendations with coaches and athletic department administrators. Develop policies and procedures to support safe athletic participation. Coordinate with campus health services and / or team physician for referral of student-athletes. Attend all Trinity sponsored sporting events. Assist with SAAC and other Departmental Programs including initiatives in the areas of mental health, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Thorough knowledge of conference, NCAA, NATA rules and regulations.
Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with persons of diverse cultures and language groups. Demonstrated personal and professional integrity Strong oral and written communication skills as well as computer competency and skills required.
Ability to build and foster relationships, think creatively and take initiative.
High attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
Inquisitive nature with a desire to learn and explore new concepts. Ability to work independently to meet goals in a timely and accurate manner. Qualifications:Master's degree required for certified athletic trainers.
3-5 years of experience intercollegiate athletic training.
NATA certification.
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification Required.
SPECIAL LICENSES, REGISTRATION OR CERTIFICATION: NATA BOC
BLS First Aid/AED/CPR
Valid Driver's License DC Athletic Trainer License
Work Schedule:40 hours a week. Working evenings and weekends may be requested.
Employees are required to work in-person. Flexible scheduling is required: schedule includes evenings and weekends.
