Job Summary: The Endoscopy Technician plays a vital role in supporting physicians and registered nurses during endoscopic procedures by providing skilled assistance and ensuring all instruments and supplies are properly maintained. This position involves preparing, cleaning, and sterilizing endoscopes and related accessories to meet established standards and protocols. Essential Responsibilities:
Assist physicians with procedural tasks during endoscopy. Monitor and process instruments and equipment according to best practices and guidelines. Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize endoscopes and accessories thoroughly. Collect tissue specimens following established protocols. Support registered nurses with patient care and transportation as needed. Prioritize tasks effectively and adjust priorities as necessary.
Education and Experience: Completion of an Endoscopy Technician program or certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred but not required. Candidates with 1-2 years of relevant experience are favored. Licensure and Certifications: Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) as a CST is preferred. Work Shift: Primarily 4th shift hours. This role is based in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
