**Starting base salary is determined upon years of experience** North Platte Valley Medical Center is seeking versatile and compassionate CNA-ED Techs to join our Emergency Department team. This unique role combines patient care, administrative support, and registration responsibilities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care for all patients entering the Emergency Room. Position Overview The CNA-ED Tech provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the ED Charge Nurse and the guidance of the ED Provider. This position also serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, handling registration, phone communications, and general administrative duties. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, can work collaboratively and respectfully as a team and is comfortable responding to emergencies. Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical Support
Provide age-specific care to patients of all ages, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. Assist the ED team with patient transfers, vital signs, and general CNA duties. Follow orders from the ED Physician and communicate closely with the ED Charge Nurse. Maintain patient safety, including applying alternatives to restraints or restraints per policy. Stock treatment rooms and ER bays to ensure readiness for patient care. Respond to call lights and assist in patient transport within the facility. Registration & Administrative Duties
Serve as primary registration personnel for patients presenting to the ED. Interview patients and collect admission information, signatures, and required documentation. Operate phone and paging systems; direct calls and visitors appropriately. Perform data entry and order entry for patients with accuracy. Maintain medical records in compliance with institutional guidelines. Assist with Medical Records tasks, including filing, faxing, copying, and retrieving records. Communication & Teamwork
Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the ED team. Collaborate with RNs, LPNs, and other staff to ensure safe, efficient patient flow. Attend department meetings and participate in continuing education requirements. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times. Must maintain HIPAA compliant and follow all policies regarding PHI. Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certifications:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required BLS certification required. Paramedic or EMT license is a plus; may work within scope of licensure.
Experience:
2-3 years in a healthcare environment preferred. Minimum 1 year computer or data entry experience.
Other: Must be at least 18 years old and maintain a drug-free, professional work environment. Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move patients safely using proper body mechanics. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and walk frequently throughout shifts. Comfortable working in fast-paced, emergency situations. Job Type
Full-Time | NPVMC promotes a 12-hour, 7 on 7 off rotating schedule Both day shift and night shift roles available 0600-1800 1800-0600
