Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensuring patient history aligns with the procedure and documentation is accurate. Prepare and instruct patients to achieve optimal imaging results while minimizing anxiety. Operate radiography equipment and accessories effectively to complete procedures. Position patients to best display the anatomical area of interest, considering comfort and ability. Immobilize patients when necessary for accurate examinations. Determine appropriate radiographic exposure factors. Apply radiation protection principles to safeguard patients, self, and others. Evaluate image quality and ensure proper identification is recorded. Attend to patients' physical and psychological needs during procedures. Practice aseptic techniques as required. Perform venipunctures and administer contrast media as prescribed. Assist licensed practitioners with interventional and fluoroscopic procedures. May perform non-interpretive fluoroscopic tasks and anchor urinary catheters if instructed. Initiate basic life support when necessary. Provide patient education about tests and procedures. Maintain assigned areas, report equipment issues, and restock supplies. Contribute to supply decisions and provide practical instruction to students or healthcare professionals. Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives. Adhere to all relevant standards and policies. May participate in on-call duties as needed, with schedules determined by department leadership. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology. Computer proficiency is necessary. Licensure and Certifications:
Must hold state certification for radiologic technologists. Graduate from an accredited radiography program with an active student license at start date. Registry eligible and must obtain R.T.(R) ARRT certification within six months of hire.
