Summary: Provide essential patient care with a focus on nephrology in a full-time day shift role. Assist patients during admission, orient them to the unit, and support nursing care plans by performing delegated tasks. Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked patient environment while actively participating in cost containment and patient satisfaction initiatives. Major Responsibilities:
Assist with patient admissions and orientation to unit routines and equipment. Respond promptly to patient needs, providing direct assistance or reporting as necessary. Support nursing care plans by carrying out assigned patient care duties. Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies. Manage medication and supply retrieval for patient care. Maintain cleanliness and stock levels in the patient environment. Participate in educational programs and performance improvement activities. Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency. Demonstrate responsibility in customer satisfaction and hospital operational efficiency. Education and Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required. Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry. BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Experience and Skills:
No prior experience required; training provided. Strong guest relations and communication skills. Ability to read and write English effectively. Flexible and adaptable to varying work schedules and tasks. Basic computer skills and knowledge of age-specific patient care considerations. Physical Requirements:
Ability to work variable shifts including standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Capability to turn and lift patients safely. Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions. Exposure to blood and body fluids with adherence to safety protocols.
