Job Summary: This role supports nursing practice and care delivery through a blend of direct patient assistance, communication, client care support, and clerical duties, all centered on patient and family needs within a culture of best practices and exceptional customer service.
Essential Responsibilities: 1. Fiscal Responsibility : Completes assignments within delegated timeframes; manages transportation and reports equipment issues; maintains cleanliness and restocks supplies; assists with operating room turnover and equipment docking. 2. Quality : Collaborates as a team member in continuous quality improvement efforts; applies sound judgment in caring for patients of varying ages and diagnoses; suggests improvements to enhance patient experience; stays current with policies. 3. Patient Satisfaction : Advocates for patient rights; enhances patient comfort and understanding to reduce anxiety; communicates strategies to improve care satisfaction. 4. Patient Safety : Ensures complete and accurate documentation before patient transport; safely transports surgical patients using proper identification and fall prevention techniques; assists nursing staff with patient transfers; communicates effectively with care team. 5. Professional Growth : Recognizes personal limitations and pursues learning opportunities; shares knowledge with colleagues; demonstrates leadership and serves as a resource; participates in goal development and training. 6. Customer Service : Upholds high customer service standards; promotes ethical behavior and teamwork; fosters positive relations with patients, families, visitors, and staff; practices AIDET communication; maintains a professional and flexible approach. Education & Experience: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Computer proficiency required. - Area-specific education may be provided upon hire and must be maintained. This position operates within a regional healthcare setting in the Midwest United States and involves a full-time day shift schedule.
