POSITION: Senior Comp/Network System Engineer LOCATION: El Segundo, CA/Flexible REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active TS with SCI eligibility POSITION TYPE/STANDARD WORK HOURS: Full time, 40 hours THE OPPORTUNITY: Upon award, BTAS will be filling potential openings for the Space Systems Command (SSC). SSC plays a critical role in advancing the United States space capabilities, delivering solutions to protect and enhance national security. SSC/SZBC specializes in highly classified Space Domain Awareness systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control capabilities, and space test range assets to support DoD needs. As a leader in space technology, SSC/SZ-BC develops, tests, deploys, and sustains mission-critical systems to ensure USSF maintains a strategic advantage. This position supports multiple SSC/SZ-BC programs and other initiatives across the Space Force, Air Force, and allied organizations. We are committed to quality, professionalism, and providing a stimulating work environment, collaborating with partners to achieve goals. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical advice for project and program stages. Support program acquisition efforts in technology development and integration. Advise on cost, schedule, and performance issues. Draft JCIDS and acquisition documentation for government managers. Support presentations to internal and external customers. Documentation includes Capability Documents, Interface Control Documents, Milestones, Acquisition Strategies, Analysis of Alternatives, and more. Provide technical and programmatic status reports as requested. Identify process improvements and recommend changes. Assist in building and maintaining a government risk program. Monitor program schedules, acquisition implementation, and report on risks. Advise on technical engagements and reviews. Provide insights for mission protection and cybersecurity support per DoDI 8500.01. Manage program authorities to operate, test, and connect, and support cybersecurity activities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Recognized SME with MA/MS and over 10 years of relevant experience. Expertise in computer networks, protocols, and architecture. Experience integrating cybersecurity into mission systems. Developing cyber tools for operators. Experience applying technology in operational environments. Experience working with mission partners and the intelligence community. Experience with mission systems and DoD policies. Experience in classified environments to meet warfighter needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not supervise others. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Professional office setting; routine use of standard office equipment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to operate a computer and remain stationary for 80% of the time. TRAVEL: Minimal travel required. OTHER DUTIES: Activities may change; duties are not exhaustive. COMPENSATION / SALARY RANGE: $183,000–$300,000, contingent on experience and qualifications. BTAS BENEFITS: Includes paid time off, holidays, health coverage, 401K with match.
