Description: The DevOps Engineer will provide a reliable, highly available platform that orchestrates the microservices of a modernized operational system using cutting‑edge cloud, containerization, automation, and CI/CD technologies.
This role is responsible for developing Infrastructure as Code, automating operational tasks, maintaining compliant Linux‑based systems, managing AWS cloud infrastructure, supporting containerized workloads, and enabling reliable software delivery through automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
Responsibilities
Develop Infrastructure as Code, automation scripts, and tools to automate tasks, provision managed services, and support operational efficiency using technologies such as Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
Patch, harden, and maintain compliance of RedHead Enterprise Linux systems.
Install, configure, maintain, and tune platforms and services including Kubernetes, Docker Compose, NiFi, and cloud‑native logging and metrics collection tools.
Manage CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying code using GitLab runners, GitLab CI/CD, and Argo CD.
Manage commercial cloud computing platforms, primarily AWS.
Design, implement, and support reliable infrastructure services that meet program and product needs.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance, reliability, and uptime.
Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and operational issues.
Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and technical leadership.
Perform work in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility, with little to no remote work.
Position Desired Skills (2 of the below):
Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure including but not limited to EC2, Lambdas, S3, SNS, SQS, Event Router, Athena, Step Functions using Terraform and auto scaling.
Understanding of AWS networking principles to include VPCs, NATs, IP Gateway.
Develop and manage Gitlab CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability.
Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure system uptime.
Kubernetes experience with a focus on EKS, ECS, and/or Fargate.
DEVOPS4 Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
An active Top Secret clearance with polygraph (CI within last 7 years).
Current Security+CE certificate.
Salary Range: $212k-$259k (Annually)
24 days PTO accrued annually and 11 federal holidays. Our 401k is 100% vested on your start date and the company makes a direct contribution worth 10% of your salary. Akina covers 100% of healthcare costs for employees and 50% toward dependents. We offer educational assistance towards college classes and will cover costs associated with job related training and certifications.
