Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Long-Term Care (LTC)
Location: Newport, VT 05855 - local candidates only
Setting: Long-Term Care facility (LTC nurse role)
Contract Duration: 7 weeks (April 1, 2026 - May 18, 2026)
Shift: 12-hour Nights (19:00 - 07:30) - LPN night shift position
Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,030 - $1,090 (LPN travel pay)
Employment Type: Travel Contract - local travel assignment for Vermont nursing jobs
Job Requirements (LPN Qualifications) Active LPN license in Vermont (required)
Minimum 1 year of LPN experience; long-term care (LTC) experience preferred
Reliable availability for night shift schedules in a fast-paced LTC environment
Strong clinical documentation, medication administration, and resident assessment skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with RNs, CNAs, and interdisciplinary teams
Current CPR certification (BLS preferred)
Primary Responsibilities (LTC Nurse Duties) Provide direct nursing care and bedside support to residents in a long-term care facility
Safely administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility protocols
Monitor, assess, and document resident health status, behavior, and changes in condition
Collaborate with RNs, CNAs, therapists, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate resident care plans
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting dignity and resident-centered care
Maintain infection control practices, LTC compliance standards, and a safe environment
