Position Title Solutions Architect (Java / Cloud) Location Tysons Corner, VA Remote, (Preferred Local) Role Summary We are looking for a Solutions Architect to design scalable, secure, and integrated solutions for the platform. This role is responsible for end-to-end architecture, aligning business needs with technical strategy in a cloud-native, microservices ecosystem. Key Responsibilities
Design end-to-end system architecture for fraud investigation workflows Define microservices boundaries and integration patterns Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance Architect integrations with external systems (FPS, OnePI, FileNet) Define API contracts and data flow models Lead design of REST and event-driven communication Design AWS-based solutions (S3, IAM/STS, compute) Guide containerization and orchestration strategies Ensure cloud cost optimization and resilience Define architecture for secure data handling (PII) Ensure compliance with federal standards Establish design guidelines and best practices Conduct architecture reviews and technical auditsWork closely with development teams for implementation alignment
Required Skills
Strong background in Java + Spring Boot Deep knowledge of microservices architecture Strong AWS experience (S3, IAM, networking basics) CI/CD and DevSecOps practices Experience with JPA/Hibernate Understanding of distributed data systems Messaging/event-driven systems (Kafka or similar — optional) System design at scale Trade-off analysis (performance vs cost vs complexity) Strong documentation and communication
Nice to Have
Experience with fraud detection or investigation systems Knowledge of FileNet / ECM systems Exposure to Teradata or large enterprise data platforms
Qualifications
Bachelor's/master's in computer science or related field 10–15+ years of experience 3–5+ years in architecture roles
