We are partnering with a nationally recognized academic public health system in Dallas, Texas to find an exceptional Staff Physician Internal Medicine to join their innovative Value-Based Care Clinic as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track. This is a unique opportunity to combine direct patient care with resident teaching in a mission-driven academic environment focused on health equity, community medicine, and value-based care.
Position Details- Setting: Academic Internal Medicine / Value-Based Care Clinic
- Patient Population: Adult / Complex Internal Medicine
- Schedule: Full-Time Permanent Day Shift
- Hours: Full-time daytime clinic-based schedule; standard business/daytime hours
- Location: Dallas, TX

This is a dual-mission position combining academic faculty responsibilities with direct patient care in a value-based care clinic. You will serve as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track, supervise residents in a collaborative academic setting, and deliver high-quality, population-centered care addressing the social determinants of health. The position is affiliated with both the health system and a prominent academic medical university.
Teaching & Educational Leadership- Serve as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track
- Supervise Internal Medicine residents in a clinic-based experiential learning environment
- Provide real-time clinical teaching in primary care, population health, value-based care, and health equity-focused practice
- Teach residents to integrate social determinants of health, community-engaged care, and equity-centered clinical decision-making
- Participate in journal clubs, lecture series, case conferences, and resident workshops
- Mentor residents in quality improvement initiatives, health equity research, and scholarly activities
- Collaborate with residency and program leadership to develop curriculum aligned with ACGME competencies
- Provide formative and summative feedback to residents to support professional growth
- Deliver comprehensive Internal Medicine care within the Value-Based Care Clinic
- Utilize evidence-based guidelines and value-based care principles
- Help establish and refine value-based standard practices for the clinic
- Use population health tools, risk stratification, and care coordination strategies
- Improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare disparities
- Identify and address non-medical drivers of health impacting patient care
- Deliver coordinated, team-based care alongside care managers, pharmacists, social workers, behavioral health specialists, and community partners
- Partner collaboratively with Graduate Medical Education personnel
- Provide compassionate, effective care for complex adult patients
- Model equitable and high-value care for residents
- Maintain current expertise in Internal Medicine, health equity science, and value-based care frameworks
- Integrate evidence-based medicine into both patient care and teaching
- Participate in quality improvement projects and mentor residents in QI methodology
- Support operational plans, coordinated care delivery, and clinical process improvement
- Demonstrate advanced communication, leadership, innovation, and problem-solving skills
- Completion of ACGME or AMA approved residency required, no exceptions
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine required
- Texas Medical License (or willingness to obtain) required
- At least one professional reference within the last 24 months required
- Interest in resident education and academic medicine required
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary care environment required
- Clean malpractice and license history highly preferred
- Experience in medical education, health equity, population health, or value-based care highly preferred
