Consultant – Business Analyst, Risk Data Analytics We are looking for a Business Analytics Consultant to work on Business Intelligence and Analytical solutions for users in the Financial Risk area. The consultant should have a background in financial risk management, data management, and business analysis. You will work directly with business users, project managers and IT to develop data management, analytics and visualization tools that will help them visualize their data, discover and share insights, and ultimately make better decisions. In this role you will have the opportunity to learn about multiple businesses within the Capital Markets industry and work directly with senior managers and SMEs in the Financial Risk area (Credit Risk) on building Analytics to support their projects and day-to-day business needs.
Responsibilities
Translate business needs to technical specifications
Gather requirements, analyze data and create proof of concepts
Design functional specifications for BI dashboards and reports
Connect to and transform data with advanced data preparation capabilities
Architect, design and develop end-to-end business analytics solutions, interactive data visualizations, and dashboards based on the Microsoft Power BI platform
Document, design, build and deploy BI models
Develop tabular and multidimensional models
Develop, publish and schedule Power BI/Tableau visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop per business needs/requirements
Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
Collaborate with teams to integrate data from multiple systems
Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
Develop and update technical documentation
Craft and execute ad hoc queries
Requirements / Preferences
Strong experience as a Business Analyst
Advanced degree (Bachelor’s, etc.) in computer science or related field preferred
Experience in end-to-end BI project lifecycle (requirements, design, testing, deployment, and training)
Experience with tools such as Power BI and Tableau
Comprehensive knowledge of Capital Markets instruments and business processes
Knowledge of Financial Risk concepts and previous exposure to a range of regulatory frameworks such as BASEL II, BASEL III and Dodd-Frank reform
Expertise in using advance level calculations/measures on the data set
Background in data warehouse design and data mining and ETL tools
Should have knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as SQL queries and Python
$90,000-160,000/year
