Job Overview Reporting to the VP Sales, Switchgear & Busway, this role is responsible for Vertiv Switchgear Business Development Technical Sales activities and growth initiatives for Vertiv Switchgear Products in North America. Increase awareness and use of Vertiv Switchgear products at key consulting engineers, contractors that influence and support key clients. Develop and maintain relationships within this customer group to provide critical customer insight on strategic projects. Drive sales growth in 480V Switchgear products with focus on key engineering firms, named account clients, and other project opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Focus on achieving growth to hit company targets.
Participate as needed in account planning efforts and engagement strategies for key clients.
Support technical proposals, design documentation and project proposals to aid the design process and delivery to customers.
Provide Vertiv Switchgear business account management in partnership with dedicated account managers for select key accounts.
Represent the company and actively participate in key customer factory visits.
Create general industry awareness through attendance and presenting at industry events.
Educate selling entities on application focused system architectures.
Provide sales staff with technical assistance and support for technical documentation and customer facing presentations.
Participate in New Product Development efforts.
Provide industry feedback to product managers for product improvements and roadmaps.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s in engineering, business or related degree.
8+ years of industry sales experience.
Technical knowledge of 480V Switchgear products and applications.
Deep market dynamics and industry knowledge.
Experience working on large, complex RFQs.
Experience working with Sales Offices.
Salesmanship and self-confidence to deal with frequent, stressful customer relationship issues.
Sales Presentation skills.
Attaining quota in measured categories.
Assist in problem job / equipment reconciliation.
