Job Summary The Software Quality Assurance Engineer III performs test strategy planning, reviews manual test cases and automated test scripts, and plays a major role in improving and driving the quality, functionality, reliability and usability of software products for L.A. Care. This position participates in business requirements gathering and may review automated scripts according to L.A. Care policy, guidelines, and SQA industry best practices, escalating as appropriate. The engineer stays abreast of industry test tools, test approaches, IT skills, L.A. Care systems, application and technology to continually improve the quality of L.A. Care systems and supports learning within the QA team.
Duties
Participate in review of business requirements, system documentation, and project assets to lead creation and mentoring of robust, accurate, and usable test artifacts for performance, end-to-end, and automation testing.
Analyze requirements and apply appropriate testing techniques to ensure comprehensive testing coverage in a timely manner.
Create or assist in creating, socializing, and presenting test strategy approach, test artifacts, testing process, and test metrics with appropriate teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and environment management to prepare test data and identify the test environment.
Lead efforts for all QA resources to adhere to software quality criteria, policy, guidelines, and best practices.
Oversee and participate in test execution, analyze and effectively communicate testing results and metrics across all testing types.
Promptly and effectively elevate issues as appropriate, supporting other team resources in timely escalation.
Proactively engage with development teams and project members to promote defect prevention early in the project lifecycle.
Participate in and/or lead test case reviews, user stories, risk assessments, requirement reviews, sprint reviews, backlog grooming sessions, and retrospectives.
Lead manual and automated test execution to validate expected results, and publish and socialize testing results and metrics to enable business decisions and continuous improvement.
Effectively log defects and quality concerns using test management systems and other reporting systems per L.A. Care policy and guidelines.
Lead the adoption and consistent use of industry-standard quality best practices (risk-based testing, structured and exploratory testing strategies, test automation, concepts testing methodologies) and improve maturity of performance, end-to-end, and automation testing at L.A. Care.
Review deliverables of others, provide risk analysis on test assignments, produce testing metrics, and recommend readiness of target systems.
Proactively contribute and suggest initiatives to advance QA methodology, processes, and reduce risks, supporting learning of other team members.
Lead selection, authoring, and maintenance of automated scripts following automation best practices.
Lead evaluation and implementation of test tools, testing approaches, QA process refinement, DevOps CI/CD initiatives, and drive socialization of DevOps maturity.
Build and maintain a positive and vibrant QA Team culture, and as a subject matter expert, develop and conduct training for lower-tiered positions.

Education Required Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
In lieu of a degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.
Experience
Required: At least 5 years as a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer, including functional and non-functional testing activities.
Experience serving as lead in review of business requirements to develop test strategy, plan, and test cases, deploying risk-based testing tactics.
Experience authoring automated scripts according to industry test automation best practices.
Experience managing execution of manual test cases and automated scripts to detect and report defects.
Experience communicating quality-related matters across an organization and project teams.
Drive DevOps initiatives to shift-left in testing approach.
Experience collaborating in blended teams with onsite, nearshore, and offshore resources.
Preferred: Lead development of processes and procedures for all automated platforms and application testing.
Hands‑on testing experience on healthcare systems such as QNXT, Facets, Syntranet or equivalent.
Skills
