Position Overview Software Section Leader – Battle Management Systems Software Department, RTX, Ft. Wayne, IN. This on‑site role requires U.S. citizenship and a valid U.S. government Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one prior to start. Responsibilities Ensure each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement. Contribute to the technical oversight of employees in support of their daily work assignments. Develop and implement performance assessments and appraisals. Plan salary and staffing in alignment with company policies. Communicate company and program information to the team. Support a major program and maintain adherence to company policies. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; a STEM degree required. Experience with complex systems and software development techniques and tools (C/C++, Java, Ada). Experience with design, coding, integration, and testing of large systems. Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum, SAFe, and DevSecOps. Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim U.S. government Secret clearance on day 1. Preferred: Master’s degree in STEM, 3 years of additional experience. Proficiency with Atlassian Suite, Jenkins, Eclipse, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, Red Hat and Linux. Strong communication, interpersonal, decision‑making, and leadership skills. Customer focus and ability to collaborate with leadership, teammates, and suppliers. Benefits Medical, dental, vision, life, short‑ and long‑term disability, and 401(k) match.
