Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be a central figure in our pharmacy, providing essential support to pharmacists in dispensing medications, assisting patients, and ensuring smooth daily operations. You will play a vital role in upholding medication safety, patient satisfaction, and efficient workflow. Every day, you will expertly process prescriptions, meticulously enter patient information, accurately count, pour, and label medications, and manage inventory, ensuring adherence to strict regulations and policies. You will also assist patients, answer questions within your scope, manage prescriber communication, and maintain a clean environment, providing compassionate and efficient service. To be successful in this role, you will combine a strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent communication and customer service skills. You will demonstrate a proactive approach, a commitment to accuracy, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering safe, patient-centered care.
Perform all duties of a pharmacy technician in accordance with established policies and procedures related to the preparation and distribution of medication
Perform duties required to restock medication dispensing cabinets and fill first doses
Perform duties required in processing medications at patient discharge and transfer
Perform duties required for narcotic distribution and assist in discrepancy resolution
Perform duties required for patient specific medication delivery
Process credits and restock returns
Record waste
Answer phone and determine order status; triage calls for appropriate resolution
Review anesthesiology records and extract pharmacy charges; reconcile controlled substances with anesthesia department
Job Requirements Required
High School Graduate or High School GED
Pharmacy Technician: AR license
