Description
Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups through standardized evaluations and observational assessments. Design tailored treatment plans that aim at fulfilling immediate goals while addressing long-term communication and swallowing challenges. Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions focused on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills. Collaborate with fellow healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and families to develop integrated care approaches. Educate patients and their families to promote progress beyond clinical sessions. Assist with occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions, ensuring a seamless care experience throughout the patient's recovery journey. Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with all regulatory and organizational standards. Commit to ongoing education and professional development to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field. Education
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained. Certifications
Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within the first 30 days of employment. Skills
Strong command of evidence-based treatment modalities for all ages, with in-depth knowledge of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams. Flexibility in adapting treatment techniques to accommodate a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities. Proficient in utilizing electronic medical records and documentation requirements. Benefits
