Description
Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric demographics utilizing standardized testing and observational methods. Create tailored treatment strategies focusing on both immediate and extended communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions targeting language, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges. Engage collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop unified care approaches. Provide educational resources and support for patients and families to enhance progress outside of therapy sessions. Conduct occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, assuring consistent care through the recovery process. Maintain precise and timely documentation per state, federal, and organizational standards. Commit to ongoing education and peer collaboration to stay updated with leading practices in the field. Education
A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Fulfilling a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications
Required state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification should be obtained within 30 days of employment. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods across all age groups, paired with a solid foundation in both developmental and acquired speech and language disorders. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, fostering connections with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
