General Dentist Crescent Community Health Center located in Dubuque, Iowa, provides access to dental, healthcare, and wellness services for the Tri-State area. Our state-of-the-art facility (2nd largest in Iowa) consists of 35 operatories, an oral surgery center and an onsite dental lab. We have invested in new equipment such as intraoral scanners, milling machines, 3D imaging, rotary Endo, and surgical microscopes, which reflects our commitment to embrace advanced technology. We will also soon work in the community with our new two-operatory mobile dental clinic. These investments align well with our mission to offer high quality comprehensive care to all age groups. Summary: Performs professional, high quality dental care, preventive care and restorative care to clients of all ages with maximum concern for client comfort, treatment, and respect. Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
Performs all functions according to CCHC mission and values Performs oral examinations using x-ray and other special equipment. Diagnoses and treats dental and oral disease. Performs restorations, extractions, prophylactic, and other dental work as indicated. Achieves productivity standards as determined by supervisor. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles, standard practice methods and techniques of general dentistry, preventive dentistry, and educational methodologies utilized in prevention. Performs dental operations and treats mouth diseases; refers clients per protocols; confers with physicians regarding medical/dental problems. Keeps clinical and other records regarding services provided, supplies and materials used. Uses all available resources for diagnosis and treatment in an appropriate and cost-efficient manner. Participates in development of dental policies, procedures, dental records, and quality improvement plan. Participates in professional education for self to maintain the highest level of expertise. Maintains good relationships with other professionals within the community. Available for on call coverage to triage after hours calls. (Not currently triaging after hours but may be necessary at a later date.) Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of general dentistry. Practice within scope of license and experience. Maintain infection control and safety guidelines. Maintain a friendly, respectful, and professional environment for all client contacts. Maintain a cooperative, helpful work environment within the Clinic. Maintain confidentiality regarding CCHC, its clients, and employees. Work toward continuous quality improvement. Stay current with changing best practices and technologies. Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications Education/Experience:
DDS or DMD. Graduate of accredited school of dentistry. Licensure to practice dentistry in the state of Iowa. Must have or receive in the first 30 days of employment: BLS certification mandatory reporter training. Must be able to pass screening, credentialing, and privileging requirements. Must be able to use electronic dental records and other computer software. At least one year of experience preferred.
