Job Description The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown unit. Assigned responsibilities include monitoring and managing patient conditions, administering medications, and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. ResponsibilitiesMonitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and neurological status. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Provide education and support to patients and families regarding care plans and health management. Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Utilize specialty equipment, including IV pumps and feeding tubes, as needed. Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers in accordance with hospital policy. Required Experience / Certifications / LicensureMust hold an active RN license in New York. Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications are required; NIHSS may be obtained before starting. 2+ years of nursing experience in a Medical-Surgical unit with a focus on stroke patients.
