Job Description The Registered Nurse in this role will demonstrate a competent practice in the Level 4 NICU, providing care for neonatal patients ranging from feeder growers to complex ICU cases. The nurse will handle both routine and complex care, effectively managing clinical contingencies while participating in the overall assessment and treatment of patients. ResponsibilitiesUtilize the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness. Document patient history, symptoms, medication administered, and care provided accurately. Assess learning needs and provide education to patients and families regarding care. Ensure compliance with One CHRISTUS Competencies and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice. Required Experience / Certifications / LicensureBachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred. Current BLS certification (AHA only) is required. STABLE (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification required. Current NRP certification is required.
