Full time Shift: Day (United States of America) Address: 9395 CROWN CREST BLVD City: PARKER State: Colorado Postal Code: 80138 Job Description: Actively participates in scheduled document review processes related to Policy, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Work Instructions, BARE Facts, and Educational materials. Contributes to the maintenance of safety reports, accident and incident investigations, and performance improvement data. Assists in the coordination of safety activities and drills, including hospital evacuation training, decontamination exercises, and emergency management drills. Conducts training and safety rounds, coordinates hazardous surveillance rounds, safety site inspections, and other inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Environment of Care regulatory requirements. Follows and enforces appropriate safety policies, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling. Demonstrates understanding and adherence to the Chemical Hygiene plan and Infection Control policies. Transports hazardous waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area, completing initial and refresher training on proper handling, transport, and disposal of hazardous waste and personal protective equipment. Provides Fire Prevention education to all new employees and participates in annual education processes such as fire drills and fire extinguisher education. Coordinates ICRA and ILSM review processes for construction and renovation within or on the grounds of AdventHealth owned properties. Coordinates the Building Maintenance Program (BMP) for buildings assigned to the Safety Department and processes data and reports from areas outside the department's responsibility. Performs employee and work site exposure monitoring, collecting data, producing monthly reports, and tracking system, and submits reports for comprehensive documentation and recordkeeping. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficient knowledge of safety, occupational health, and fire protection principles, practices, procedures, codes, standards, and regulations. • Familiarity with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organization (NIAHO) standards. • Working knowledge of survey processes by organizations such as The Joint Commission (TJC) or Det Norske Veritas (DNV) as they relate to the Physical Environment including the Environment of Care (EOC), Emergency Management (EM), and Life Safety (LS). • Ability to respond to, take control of, and mitigate critical situations related to safety issues in a calm, professional manner. • Strong analytical skills, resourceful in problem-solving with the ability to observe and write accurate and error-free reports. • Excellent customer service abilities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships by being courteous and positive with others. Ability to discuss, correct, and educate others on safety issues. • Able to effectively prioritize issues in a variety of situations and identify risk. • Ability to perform extensive code and standard research and present summary or detailed report of findings to aid in developing compliance guidelines.
